Designed as part of a commercial use area within a private residential development, the 10,000-square-foot Pines Office Building borrows a formal context from its residential neighbors. Chimneys, overhanging eaves, and wood-framed windows reflect neighborhood design cues while entry detailing clearly denotes the building’s commercial use. Paired columns, a curved glass curtainwall, and a two-and-half story entrance gable provide a clear departure from the residential building type and create a transition for visitors to the contemporary interior. While respecting the Teton Pines design vocabulary; Ward + Blake created a contemporary interpretation that both harmonized and set the building apart from its neighbors. An elegant combination of birch details and steel pipe rails in the entry lobby marks the central node of the two upper office suites and eight lower-floor office spaces separated by a bilateral corridor.
