Stephen Stumpf has lived and worked in many parts of the United States. At the age of 3, in Lubbock Texas, he discovered his desire to design buildings and has read and studied many aspects of architecture and design ever since. His love for nature and his passion for creating powerful, simple forms and spaces that integrate with their natural setting have brought him to both Jackson and Ward Blake. To him, architecture is a form of living art, to be lived in and experienced – each day anew! Embodied in his design philosophy and life, also the title of his Master’s Thesis, is balance. Whether in form, space, color, texture, light, sound, etc., he believes that orchestrating balance thru harmony and contrast can offer a symphony of experiences and feelings that ultimately lead to both joy and delight!
